My name, if you had not guessed it already, is William Flake. I am a 20 year-old junior at Clemson University, studying Civil Engineering. When not at school, I'm usually found at my home in Summerville, SC, a quiet, quaint, and charming town on the outskirts of Charleston or at the home of my fiancée Brittany (aka Lynn) Kidman.

About Unfinished Thoughts

This website is designed to represent a cross-section of my life and personality. My academic life is featured in the ePortfolio. My more personal actions and thoughts are presented in the blog. My most personal actions and thoughts, though, will continue to be absent for the foreseeable future.

Why "Unfinished" Thoughts?

This is a question which I anticipated at least somebody asking. Much to my surprise, no one has. I guess that's what you get for overthinking. In either case, I chose to name the site as Unfinished because I do not believe that any of my thoughts are truly done. A "finished" thought is one that is perfect, unable to be further developed or improved upon. Using this definition, all of the thoughts and ideas I have ever had are unfinished, for I am continuously revising my viewpoint or learning new information. Honestly, I hope that I am never faced with the end of a thought; the learning process is a part of who I am.

About Web Standards

Standards make information on the internet easier to find, easier to search, and easier to consume. I try my best to utilize the standards, following industry best practices. All of my pages should validate as XHTML5, the emerging standard for web pages. All of my styling is done by CSS 2.1, and the blog's feed should be valid RSS 2.0. If you spot any errors with my conformance to these standards, please don't hesitate to let me know.
